Sister Time

Look who is here!  Many blog readers have never "met" my beautiful sister.  We don't get to see each other near enough.  So when we knew we would only be a mere 6 hours from one another, she jumped right in her car and drove over to Indianapolis to see me.  There is no doubt in my mind how much she loves me, that she would drive all this way for just one night!

Despite not seeing Diana in over a year, we picked up right where we left off.  We put Forbes to sleep as we lay around the hotel room sharing stories and photos.  I had not seen her wedding or honeymoon albums yet, and of course I had to share all of our African adventures with her.

My sister and I were best friends in college.  We always shared an apartment...well actually, we always shared a room.  It was much more cost efficient, shall we say!  We were pretty inseparable and I was very much dependent on her and her friendship.  The running joke is that I wouldn't even get my haircut without her with me!

Well since our college years, we have grown apart in many ways.  Of course distance and new families do that.  We are both married now.  With our marriage relationships to nurture and half a country between our homes, it was inevitable that we wouldn't stay as close.  It was difficult for us the first few years we no longer lived together.  It was as if we no longer understood how to be sisters, we were so used to being best friends.  Over the years, we have had to tweak our relationship, to learn how to be friends and sisters without being together all the time.

Our relationship has been a work in progress.  Nonetheless, she is still the most important person in the world to me.  We have had so many fun times and always have fun together.  Diana understands me like no one else in this world and she knows me better than probably my own husband.  Despite that, she still loves me unconditionally!

Needless to say, I was ecstatic when she decided she wanted to come visit me.  I don't feel I am worthy of a 12 hour round trip drive for just one night.  But I love that she is here and that we are getting to spend quality time together.  I know Forbes is happy she came as well, but probably not as happy as me!  We keep putting him to sleep!

Well enough computer time, back to sister time!  We only have a few short hours before we are both on our way home!
