Could it really be a perfect weekend?

Another perfect day today, but before we get into Sunday, let's recap the rest of my fabulous Saturday.

Let's see, where did we leave off...oh yes, delicious dinner with Susan and the kids!
It all began with a Passionfruit Martini.  This is very unusual for me.  I am a wine girl.  White in the summer, red in the winter.  A martini is unheard of, but this just sounded refreshing...and was!
I made a few tweaks to my usual veggie roll at Joel's last night.  Inspired by their special "Lemon Drop" I added jalopeno slices, lemon zest and Sriracha to my roll.  Yummo!
I also ordered the Tofu Waldorf Salad, however it was delivered sans tofu, so we got a discount.  It was still delicious.  Light and fresh!

And of course directly following dinner we bee-lined across the street for free TCBY at their Grand Opening event!
The usual here, Pink Lemonade Sorbet topped with fresh fruit, granola, mochi and coconut.

Ok, so that pretty much wraps up Saturday's events.  We had a wonderful time catching up with the kids and with Susan, and even my friend Emily joined us for TCBY.  It was a friend-filled day!  I loved it.

This morning started slow thanks to a pre-made breakfast:
Cherry Vanilla Protein Overnight Oats
serves 2

1 banana
2 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cup Almond Milk
1/4 cup Vanilla Protein Powder
8-10 cherries, pitted and chopped, plus more for topping

In bowl mash banana.  Add chia seeds, rolled oats, milk, protein powder and whisk together with a fork.  Stir in cherries and set overnight in a fridge.

Serve with more chopped cherries or other toppings of choice.

After a delicious breakfast we hustled off to church.  This morning we presented about our mission trip.  I plan to transcribe the presentation for you tomorrow, or as best as I can.  I shared some fun things I haven't shared with anyone yet.

Other than church, what makes a day perfect for me?  Do you have to ask?  Grocery Shopping of course!  We had to run to Ikea for some last minute parts for the new shelving, so we swung into Trader Joe's for a few staples: olive oil, vinegar, cereal, veggie burgers, hummus...etc.

Later we headed over to Susan's to watch the Woman's World Cup before a fun concert on the green in Davidson this evening.

The game was so long, and it was my first time ever watching a soccer match on television.  It was a very exciting game, and while I'm sad USA lost...go Japan!

Now I'm off to snack on this wonderful creation!

My dear friend made vegan cupcakes for church this morning and I took one to-go!  Can't wait to dig in!

Well, that wraps up another perfect day.  I'm sad the weekend is over, but excited we are one more day closer to a special visit from a special sister-in-law!  Can't wait!
