Santa's Little Helper

Dinner Snacks were served before a very special mission.  Forbes and I volunteered last night to assist Santa Claus at the North Pole with some very important phone calls.  This is the third year we have been asked to volunteer and it was a blast!  Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas!

Yesterday was so very busy, but I managed to squeeze everything into one short day.  Today could possibly be no different.  I am savoring these precious unscheduled moments this morning, hesitating to begin my to-do list because then it may never end!

Tomorrow is the New Balance Girls on the Run 5k presented by Iredell Health System.  Another mouthful for a race name, but well worth it.  Turkey Trot was fun, but this is the race to attend.  There is a spirit that is present that you cannot replicate without the help of 350 8-14 year old girls.  They have worked all season to prepare for this moment and they will accomplish an awesome goal tomorrow morning!

Similarly, I have been preparing all season for this same moment as well.  I know that these long hours and nerves will all be worth it when 9am rolls around and the 5k begins, and then to see the excitement as each girl crosses the finish line!

So that's all I have for today.  My mind really cannot focus on anything other than the race.  Have a wonderful Friday!  And come run the 5k tomorrow morning!
