Cyber Birthday!

Yo! Vegan Faith is 2 years old today!  How can that be?  My baby is all growing up so fast!  I wonder what the terrible two's will bring!  Here's hoping it's anything like the last year.  I have had so much fun developing this website and making it better than ever!

What has changed in a year?

...Well we have a new look!

...I added Recipage to make viewing recipes easy and fun!

...And we have all new buttons with updated pages so you can get to know me, view my workouts and recipes quick and easy, and check out more information about Africa or Faith.

Other than updating the site and making it more user friendly, things are pretty much in a rhythm around here this year.  I accomplished some pretty awesome milestones this year and have had a great time documenting all of my adventures here on Vegan Faith!

My Cyber-Birthday always comes at a very busy time of year for me.  I am in between two major events: the Turkey Trot 5k and the New Balance Girls on the Run 5k.  Not to mention I am hosting the Live 58: film tonight at church, I have a dinner party for all of our coaches to host next week, 3 Christmas parties to attend, and another that I am hosting in the next two weeks.  Busy?  Why yes I am.  But that's the way I like it!

Last night I took some time away from work to hang out with friends in Davidson for the annual Christmas event.  Christmas in Davidson is quaint and makes you feel all warm and tingly inside...even if it's cold outside!

I failed to take many photos last night, but the horse and carriage photo should give you a pretty good visual of the event.  Attending Christmas in Davidson always makes me want to live in the "olden" days!  There is such a sense of community and warm fuzzies that I cannot get enough of!

We met our dear friends the Frye's and I also invited Blogger friend Brittany and "hubbs" to join us.  Natually, Hailey came too!
We walked around the different booths until we were chilled and stepped into Flatiron for some drinks and fellowship!  Forbes and "hubbs" (aka David- Brittany's husband) hit it off and were engrossed in conversation all evening, which gave Brittany and me plenty of time to catch up.

If I had remembered last night, it would have been the perfect Cyber-birthday celebration!  We should have toasted to it!
Good thing Hailey remembered!  She was way ahead of us!

Well, since I didn't remember, I'm toasting now...with my delicious Chocolate Green Monster.  Why haven't I thought of this before?
It is a beautiful shade of puke green, which is why I doctored the photo to look a little more appetizing.  Despite the color, this smoothie rocked my afternoon!

Don't let the color throw you off!  You will think you are sipping on the most delicious, creamy milkshake out there.  Except this one is made with whole foods and is healthy for you! Chocolate chips are non-optional if you are celebrating your cyber-birthday!

Prep/Cook time: 5-10 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 1/2 cups ice cubes
  • 1-2 tablespoons vegan chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:
  1. Blend all ingredients except chocolate chips together until smooth.  Add chocolate chips and pulse a few times until crumbled but not totally blended.  Serve!

And because I am becoming a bit long-winded I will post my 2nd Annual "Remember When's" separately!  Have a great day!  And celebrate a little for me today!
