Yup, I did it! {18 miles and a vegan dinner party}

Guess what I did today?
All 18 miles!  Very exciting.  It was very difficult to get up and go.  I called my friend Jennifer for some motivation and support and she basically told me to get my butt out there!  So I did!  I am so excited to have completed this huge achievement!  Only 2 more long runs to go before the big event!

This is me at the 13.5 mile mark.  I stopped at home for a quick drink of water, stash more food in my pockets and grab my iPod that was charging.
It was a chilly day and I wore two long sleeves with a vest, a hat, gloves, and tights.

After the run, my legs were so sore.  I was really proud of myself today.  I ran most of the entire 18 miles with short breaks every 6 miles for food and water.  I also carried a water bottle with me and kept hydrated the entire time.  That was good.  The only thing I ate during were 2 dates.  After the run I was starving!
I quickly chowed on this banana while my lunch was in the microwave.  Nothing exciting...just leftovers from my lunch with Chrissy yesterday.  After a shower and food, I was almost myself.  I picked up the kiddos from school and then I got to work in the kitchen...

Guess what else I did today?
I hosted a Pasta Party for all my friends who are running Thunder Road tomorrow morning.  And any friends who aren't but just wanted to come cheer everyone on!  I realized a Pasta Party is the easiest to host.  I could make everything ahead and be a really fun hostess.  Sometimes when I host a dinner party, I wind up in the kitchen more than I get to socialize.  And while I love the kitchen...socializing comes first in my book!
On the menu:

Vegetable Lasagna
Stuffed Shells
Spaghetti and red sauce
Rolls
Salad
Chocolate covered Peanut Butter Pretzels

My guests also brought cookies and Pomegranate Jello.

There were lots of carbs involved here.  Perfect for the big race tomorrow!  Good luck runners!
Sorry for the dark photos!  Better photos and recipes coming tomorrow!
I decorated more for the holidays.  Yes that is a butt-load of candy in my house.  It's the holidays!  What can I say?!
Swag for the runners...
And another photo of those wonderful Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels.  I can't describe the awesomeness of this easy dessert!
We had a great night.  And because it was a party for people running tomorrow, everyone obviously left pretty early.  So now Mr. Kummerow and I are enjoying a glass of wine and more Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels!  We are also watching the Cove which is very disturbing.  So I gotta go and relax now.  Have a great weekend!
