The veggies are in...

Yay! New Absolute Organics veggies arrived today on my doorstep. You know what that means...meal planning and grocery shopping day.  So excited!
In the mix this week: carrots and red onions:
baby spinach
and romaine lettuce.

So here is the meal plan:

Tonight was snacky night.  I tend to eat a lot of samples when we grocery shop, so I didn't plan anything for dinner.

Thursday: Red Lentils with zucchini
Friday: Mexican Tortilla Pie with our out of town guests (so excited!)
Saturday: Grilling out with friends: Spinach and artichoke stuffed portabellas, veggie kabobs and pasta salad
Sunday: Lemony Baked Tofu and spinach salad
Monday: Veggie stuffed cabbage
Tuesday: Beer Waffles and Sweet Potato Wedges
Wednesday: leftovers
Thursday: Carrot Soup with Fennel Pesto
Friday: leftovers
Saturday: wedding
Sunday: Nishime
Monday: Everything but the kitchen sink soup
Tuesday: Glazed Tempeh Tacos
Wednesday: Square Meal (see previous post)
Thursday: Leftovers- operation eat all perishables we are leaving for Vegas!

Non-dinner items that I plan to try out this week include: Pumpkin Vegan Overnight Oats, Blueberry Kanten, Spring Rolls, Banana Scramble, Roasted Butternut Squash

Grocery List:
Tofu (extra firm)
Artichoke Hearts
Sundried Tomatoes
Red Potatoes
Vegetable Broth
Sweet Potatoes
Apple Cider
Chia Seeds
Canned Pumpkin- oh yes I broke down and bought into the fad
Pinto Beans
Refried Beans
Ezekiel Tortillas
Ezekiel Bread
Avocado (we got a Florida one to try)
Agar Agar
Almond Milk
Dijon Mustard

We got everything on the list plus a few extras at my favorite store Healthy Home Markets including coconut water and whole wheat pasta on sale and butternut squash.  We spent a total of $150 and this will last us most of the month.

Now I'm just sitting here watching Mr. Kummerow try out a homeopathic remedy for his ear...

Weird, huh? He says it feels cool and it really cleans the ear out.  Let's see how well it helps!

What is the oddest homeopathic remedy you have used?

  1. My grandmother did the ear cone thing on me when I was a kid. It works generally well for ear pain, but is not meant to replace antibiotics for infections. Possibly a temporary solution to ease pain though.Hope his ear feels better. Sophie
